Terms of Service

The deal between you and Chainlore

Last updated: 2026-05-11. By signing up, installing the npm package, or activating a codex, you agree to these terms. They are intentionally short.

Access to the codex content for your tier

Free tier: modules 00 and 01 of every Chainlore codex, no subscription required. Use forever.

Apprentice ($15/mo or $150/yr): full access to one chain you select.

Practitioner ($30/mo or $300/yr): full access to three chains.

Master ($50/mo or $500/yr): full access to all chains we publish, including future ones during your subscription.

Every paid tier includes a 14-day free trial. You can cancel during the trial and pay nothing.

Monthly or annual, charged in advance

Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing cycle until you cancel. You can cancel any time in dashboard.chainlore.dev/settings; access continues until the end of the current period.

Failed payments: Stripe retries up to three times over seven days. If all attempts fail, your subscription pauses and you fall back to the free tier until you update your payment method.

Refunds: within 14 days of your first charge on a new plan, email support@chainlore.dev with "Refund" in the subject and we will refund the most recent month or annual payment. After 14 days we do not issue refunds for partial periods.

You get a license, not ownership

01 — Personal use

The codex is licensed for your use

When you activate a codex, you get a non-transferable license to use the content on up to 3 machines. The license is yours while your subscription is active.

02 — What you build is yours

Everything you create

Code you write, projects you build, certificates you earn — all yours. The codex teaches; what you produce belongs to you.

03 — Don't redistribute

The content stays inside the codex

The module text, the 8-step pedagogical structure, the BREAK IT examples, the reference materials — these are Chainlore's intellectual property. Don't republish, resell, train a model on, or scrape this content.

Don't do the obvious bad stuff

No reverse-engineering or tampering with the license activation system. No sharing a single account across multiple humans (the 3-machine limit is per person, not per team).

No automated scraping of dashboard.chainlore.dev or api.chainlore.dev. No abuse of the activation API to mint license keys.

If we detect abuse, we will revoke your activations and may terminate your account without refund. If you think we made the wrong call, email us and we'll review.

We aim for uptime. We don't guarantee it.

Chainlore runs on Google Cloud Run, Supabase, and Stripe. We target high availability but the service is provided "as is" without uptime SLA for individual subscribers. If we have a sustained outage that materially affects your access (24+ hours), email us for prorated credit.

After you activate, the codex itself runs offline inside your AI agent. Brief outages of the dashboard or API do not affect your apprenticeship sessions.

The legalese, kept brief

Chainlore is an educational product. Nothing in the codex is financial, legal, or investment advice. The blockchain ecosystems we teach involve real cryptographic primitives and real money; review every command before you run it on mainnet.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our liability for any claim arising out of these terms or the service is capped at the amount you paid Chainlore in the 12 months before the claim.

We do not warrant that the codex will make you a senior practitioner. We do our best to put you on that path. The work is yours.

Either of us can end this

You can cancel at any time in dashboard.chainlore.dev/settings. Access continues until the end of the current billing period.

We may terminate accounts for breach of these terms (e.g., redistributing codex content, abusing the activation API). We will give notice via email before termination unless the breach is serious and ongoing.

We may update these

If we make a material change, we will email subscribers at least 30 days before it takes effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance. You can always cancel before then.
